Bikes For Good Causes

Bikes For Good Causes is a bike shop that sells donated bikes and provides a full bicycle repair and maintenance service. It is also a café, selling hot and cold drinks, a selection of cakes, biscuits, toasted sandwiches, soups, salads and fruit smoothies.

Bikes For Good Causes is a social enterprise.

Many young people who come to AFK come to Bikes For Good Causes for valuable work experience opportunities in the bike shop and café.

Lots of our learners complete a work experience programme here, learning how to:

• Make coffee using the coffee machine, as well as tea and other drinks
• Help customers by taking their orders and serving them drinks and snacks
• Use the till and take payments from customers

Our older trainees also particiapte in skills sessions at Bikes For Good Causes, every week for 4 weeks, as part of the Life and Work Programme – these sessions help trainees develop their work skills.
